The endless what-ifs and racing thoughts that keep you up at night. A low hum of worry about everything that might go wrong. You've already tried to think your way out, and your brain isn't listening. Anxiety isn't a personality trait, it's a pattern your brain learned to repeat. Unlearn it with the right kind of help, so your mind and body can finally rest.

Anxiety Treatment for People Who Overthink All the Things

ANXIETY THERAPY IN CO & FL

Find the calm in a stressful life

You've tried to relax. So why didn't your body get the memo?

The what-ifs and racing thoughts, the pounding heart or restless energy that shows up out of nowhere. You've tried telling yourself to calm down. Maybe you've already worked on anxiety in therapy. But it keeps coming back, running in the background, no matter how much willpower you throw at it.

Your thoughts spiral into worst-case scenarios. You feel fearful, even when nothing's wrong. People tell you to breathe, or that it's all in your head. It sucks how many of us walk around like this all the time, always braced for something that never quite happens.

Mindfulness, breathing exercises, and talking through your worries only goes so far. Anxiety therapy  that works has to give you solutions  and target the loops keeping it going. You need anxiety treatment  to break the cycle, not something that helps you just cope.

Specialized anxiety treatment for anxious people.

Finding a therapist who gets your life is half the battle.

Queer Anxiety

On high alert, even when you're safe.

Anxiety for LGBTQIA+ people isn't just internal what-ifs, it's a survival response to a lifetime of microaggressions, family rejection, and constantly scanning for safety. It’s stressing over how to be out at work, or how much to share about your life with family. Queer individuals face significantly higher rates of anxiety from minority stress, since constantly navigating heteronormative expectations, rejection, and identity concealment keeps the nervous system on permanent high alert (Johnson, S., Bogdanova, M., Alexander, L., & Stokes, P. R. A., 2025). Our queer-affirming therapy helps you process the weight of these pressures, offering a safe space to break the cycle of chronic stress and live authentically.

Anxiety from Religious Residue

Leaving the religion doesn't mean it left you.

Religious residue shows up as hard-wired thoughts, programmed behaviors, and fear that spikes over seemingly the most random things. You feel watched and judged, and making your own choices feels risky. Authority figures scare you and normal thoughts feel dirty or selfish. Most people, and most therapists, don't realize how much they're still carrying. As someone who was raised Mormon in Texas, I help people recover from Catholicism, Mormonism, Adventism, Christian Science, Southern Baptism, Evangelicalism, Islam, and more. Wherever you’re at in your journey, I can help you define your own beliefs and values.

Neurodivergent Anxiety

Because, masking ain’t easy.

Trying to live in a neurotypical world is anxiety inducing, to say the least. Anxiety feels like your system is jammed. You're staring at something you need to do and your brain won't start. That's executive dysfunction, and the task paralysis it creates isn't laziness, it's wiring. Then the shame hits. You're tracking how you come across, measuring yourself against "normal," dealing with lights and noise that feel like too much. Traditional anxiety therapy isn't built for neurodivergent brains; I adapt anxiety therapy to how your brain works.

Social Anxiety

When being liked feels like a matter of survival

Dating is hard and making friends feels impossible. You replay conversations for hours afterward, convinced you came off awkward or annoying. That post-event rumination feeds your fear of being judged, so you hold back and skip things, even though the avoidance only shrinks your world. Social anxiety treatment isn't about faking confidence; it's about helping you understand that everyday interactions aren’t a threat, so you can show up fully as yourself.

HSP Anxiety

When normal life can be an overwhelming challenge one moment and a profound spiritual experience the next

Anxiety for highly sensitive people is not just about worry. It is a biological response to an environment that feels too loud and too fast. You might find yourself scanning the room for safety, or feeling drained after minor interactions because you absorb everything around you. Your nervous system is constantly taking in data, and when it is not given space to regulate, you feel overwhelmed and stuck. I help HSPs shed internalized stigma, capitalize on their ability to process on a deeper level, and find balance in a world that constantly pulls in all directions.

Hi, I’m Adam,

Portrait of Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor, Adam Stanford, with short dark hair wearing a green patterned shirt and mustard-colored pants sitting on a green bench in front of a blue wall with plants around.

I’ve spent plenty of time in the pits of exaggerated worries, excessive tension, imaginary fears, and paralysis by analysis.  While rational thinking is necessary, it’s not enough on its own. That’s why I provide additional skills and strategies, including EMDR for resolving underlying trauma. My comprehensive approach to anxiety treatment is based on the things that helped me overcome my own perpetual stress and build a life with more joy, relaxation, and contentment. Now I love sharing it with others so they can do the same.
